Casmina travels personally to the selected location and immerses herself in its distinctive character, atmosphere, history, and natural substance. Through this intimate encounter, she carefully collects a small amount of material inextricably linked to the land – soil, sand, minerals, or other naturally occurring elements that embody the physical and geological identity of the place.
The land itself becomes part of the artwork.
Through Casmina’s unique artistic process, these materials are brought into a dialogue with precious metals and mineral pigments, giving rise to a work that unites the tangible essence of a place with artistic expression.
The place is no longer merely depicted or remembered. It becomes physically present within the artwork itself.
For selected commissioned works, Casmina creates the artwork directly at its place of origin, thus uniting the land, the artistic act, and the finished work in an extraordinary encounter.
